Here is mine:
Dads' 57 Windser.jpg

1957 Chrysler Windser. 354 Poly 2bbl 285 HP. PB auto PS,PB, radio.
My Dads' car that he loved. I'm still surprised he let me use it!
This was in 1960.

No pictures of the actual car but it looked exactly like this one, same color and all.
1978 Plymouth Sapporo. Took my test in 1979. The cop was so busy looking around the car that he barely paid attention to my driving!

On November 30, 1964, the day after I turned 14, I got my restricted license in Florida. Restrictions were daylight only, and must have a fully licensed driver in the car with me. Only had to take a written test.

My Dad let me drive the family car home after I got my license. At the time the only car we had was a 62 Dodge Polara 500 convertible, 361 four barrel, pushbutton Torqueflite and 2.76 gears. Also the original wheels and factory wheel covers. Below is what it looked like three years later, with 14x6 chrome reverse wheels. Didn't get a 440 until the spring of 68.

The car I took a driving test in when I turned 16 was a 61 Ford Falcon station wagon, 144 six, three on the tree. Don't have a picture of it, but it looked like this, except it was brown:

The car was so long and wide it hit both the front and rear pylons for the parallel parking test at the same time.

My Sister shown here in '76, but 2 years later I got mine in the same '69 Fury II. Like parallel parking a bus...

Seriously, I had a Farm Permit long before I got my regular license, so I could drive a 1950-ish IH grain truck into town to drop corn or grain off at the feed mill.
Not this exact one, but very similar:

In 1981, on my 16th birthday I got out of school mid-day to take my test in my mom’s 1976 Ford Granada, red, 4 door, just like this one.

And about a month later I stuck it face-first into a deep ditch coming off a frozen lake at 11:00 o’clock at night. Car wasn’t “totaled”, but it sure wasn’t pretty.

Y’all are gonna love this. Picture from October 2010.

1991 Toyota Celica GT 4 cylinder, manual transmission. I didn’t choose the wheels, but loved em when I was 16.

Car was stolen shortly after this, and then I bought my great grandpa’s 1986 Toyota Pickup. 4wd, extra cab. I can’t believe I let that truck get away.

The car I got my licence and learned to drive in, my dads 1973 AMC Hornet ( picture from the the web, dads was yellow) 232 6 cly, auto, I owned at the same time my very first car a 1972 Plymouth Cricket, ( picture borrowed from the net again, mine was green ) they were imported from the UK for two years, 71,72 and were known there as a Hillman Avenger, mine had the optional 1600cc dual SU carb with a 4spd, I was only learning to drive a standard at the time so I took the test in my dads Hornet.

This was the first "car" I drove. It was gravity powered.

This was the second "car" I drove, it was Briggs and Stratton powered all 1/3 HP of it.

I drove my buddy's mom's 1975 Mustang II Ghia to take the test in. Practiced for about 30 minutes and then passed the test. We never told his mom. Sorry Mary and thank you!
