How did you plug emission holes?360 heads

I have a 77 360 complete.What did you do to plug emission holes under ports?Tap and put a plug?or I heard you can plug with JB weld?Or can they be welded closed?Any help is appreaciated as I,m getting ready for exhaust!Thanks

I have welded them with my wire feed and I have drilled, tapped and used allen plugs.

I used allen plugs but then had to grind the heads of the plugs off anyways because of the way they fit to make them flush.

I used red rtv back in 90-something and they are still sealed shut today!

I used to have emissions holes on a set of 302 heads. I used 1/4-20 allen head pipe plugs after I tapped the hole.

Mine was welded.

tapped the hole about 3/8" deep, use grub screws bottomed out. They sit below the surface and after a year or so, you'll never get them out...lol.

I once got a van with the use of aluminum foil stuff and jammmmed in there.

I'd tap and screw plug them rather than welding them. Works just fine.

I drilled and tapped, then used 1/4 -20 allen setscrews that I coated liberally with JB Weld.
