How do i get my BB Dart to hook???

-
Just get some s/s springs that match the weight of your car, adjustable shocks front and rear. Torsion bars can be changed if you want. pinion snubber is a waist of time with s/s springs This is how my car comes off the line with 28-13.50 tire.

Worn out tires? Way too much pressure in them? Really poor track conditions?

Really, with that gear, you should be in high gear near the 1/8th. Can't see 500 hp blowing off a 12.5 slick at that point, regardless of the suspension.

Are you using slapper bars?

Adjustable pinion snubber? Must be a pretty crappy track to be spinning with slicks an 1/8th mile.:wack:

many mopar's on [STOCK] skinny REDLINE TIRES running high 9's and low 10's@140mph.. you have something way not right.. binding suspension...hard slicks is where i would start..

How old are the slicks?

What air pressure is in the slicks and when was the last time they were treated (sanded down)?

Sounds like they have to much air pressure

Since we're starting from scratch here.....Is this the first time you've driven a car with this much power? Any possibility that you are not "black tracking" but the suspension itself has issues that are making the car hard to drive? Meaning leaf spring bushings, or the front end.....alignment, ball joints, strut bushings, steering box, etc.

Just so some of the later arrivals here understand the above responses, the #1 post originally included.....

"I cannot go to full throttle until at least the 1/8th mile".......but that no longer appears there. :banghead:

Other the that, a lot of good tips/discussion here pertaining to launch, 60', and early run issues.

Have you looked into a caltracs setup? I had their mono leaf and bars in my '65 coronet. Car was super consistent and hooked great

Yes I admit me too, from a distance and I think it was the wht strip that threw me off,but after closer inspection and a sigh of relief I realized it was one of ours..thank God.....no offense....lol

Bradpunk77, Mopars do not need traction bars.
I laugh every time I read this. And I read it a lot.
I used to have a 400hp 340 in my Duster back in the '90s, with the 4.10 SG. It had traction bars, and it hooked like crazy, with 235-60-14 BFGs. I could spin the tires for a block easily if I wanted to (and did more than once) by feathering into the gas, but if I jumped on it it didn't spin at all, the car was just gone.

Then again, the guy at the tire shop where I had an alignment done said it was the only set he'd EVER seen installed in such a way that they actually worked, so maybe that's why most people say they don't work lol.

I have in the past ran them, actually still have a set,it depends on how and who sets them up but there are better ways now....but they can work..and they were the kool thing back in the day...
