I have this blue Duster/Demon/Dart Sport steering wheel that is blue, but it looks sorta green now. I guess it's faded or yellowed with hand grease and/or the sun. How can I bring it back to its blue colour?

Grab that thing and squeeze the the crap out of it....until it turns blue again.

Sorry, just had to. I've never heard of anyone bringing back the colour of a faded steering wheel becouse the sunlight penetrates deep to the steel band, however..... next best thing.

Okay, thanks for the input. A rebuild is not necessary, too extravagant for this guy and steering wheel!

I found the blue A-pillars were also sun-faded and I gently scratched the top with a small pocket knife, and VOILA, the sun faded part scraped off leaving a nice original blue colour underneath, although it's a little smooth looking. I guess the orange peel finish is what's scraping off, but who cares!

Maybe some Duplicolor vinyl dye would work on the wheel, but I'm afraid it would wear off. I don't know....maybe I'll try some plastic rubbing compound like Novus.

You might want to check with PinkE over at BBD. She restores steering wheels. She might have a suggestion for you. She helped me with my Tuff wheel.

65s, i work for a company that repairs auto interiors, if you think its grime thats worked its way into the wheel, take a clean cloth towel and some lacquer thinner, put it on the towel and wipe it, just be carefull if you continue to rub for too long the wheel will get tacky where you rub. Alternativly, we dye steering wheels for $35-45. http://www.creativecolorsintl.com/ :)
