Hi everyone. I got my AAR Fiberglass's Hemi Dart Scoop painted and ready for install. Bought some 3/8 inch aluminum rods from Home Depot. Cut to length, use tap and die to make threading on rods to put nuts on. But my question is how do we install it??? How does it stay on. Don't think we drill a hole through the scoop Looked at pics online of different peoples rides with the same scoop. NEED HELP AND ADVICE.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used carage bolts Drill the holes in the to of the scoop and threw the hood, run the bolt threw with the a piece of 3/8" brake line covering the threads and a nut under ther hood to keep it in place.

The one I had , had 2 thread inserts glassed onto the top of the scoop from the inside. They were kind of hard to see at first because they got a little sloppy with the resin. I went and got a piece of 1/4 " allthread and cut them and screwed them into the thread serts with lock tite . then bought a piece of aluminum tubing that fit the all thread. drilled 2 holes in the hood to run the allthread thru. slipped the tubing on and threaded a nut on the underside of the hood.

Note: be sure to leave a little extra length under the hood as you want to be able to adjust the front lip of the sccop to be level. After sitting in the hot sun and getting some sag in it plus bowing from catching air at speed the fiberglas will eventually start to droop and bow in places. You can make adjustments to keep it straight and sharp looking

Thanks for your help. Scoop is installed!! Looks great!!
