I do about anything to bring my projects along. I sell cars to buy new cars. I sell what were keepers at one time and then I realize I had rather have something else. My problem is I really cannot afford 20K-30K at one time, but I can piece it together a little at a time. I wait for bonus checks or tax checks. I did a weight loss contest with friends to win 5K. That went to concrete for my garage. My current hustle is working so far. A friend needed to help his sister in law move cars as her husband goes into a memory care unit. I bought 4 inoperable sight unseen cars. I will share the details later.

I buy and sell mostly daily driver stuff, but lately I don't seem to have the energy or desire to keep doing it. I bought a bike late last year, been wanting to get back into motorcycling for some time now, finally found something that I liked and could afford after I sold my Bronco. Of course now my wife is not very interested in riding anymore. :BangHead:

I use grocery money and go hungry that month. It's good for weight control, too.

Use to do a little **** as a side gig, but not so much these days. lol

My friend Matt says he has an OnlyFans page with 7 gay guys subscribed to him.

I told him a $140 a month is better than nothing.

I used to fund my projects off of auto parts sales, but there isn't the business that there once used to be. :(

Been working my *** off for 50 years. Time to spend a little. I do capitalize on an easy flip now and then.

Flip #1 of 4 this month.1985 CRV-HF $333 Investment Sold twice in 2 Days. First guy decided he wanted out. $250 offer to break the deal at 10:30 PM. I texted someone who had shown interest and gave him a discount of $250 since I had the extra money coming back. He paid $2500. Wife was not happy with me buying 4 cars. Now she is buying in.
This car was in storage since 1984/85.

Flip #3 1988 Prelude SE 4WS 90K miles. 40 years in Storage. Car is really cleaning up nicely. I’m taking it to a shop. Going to put in a new timing belt change the fluids and go through the brakes. $333 investment. This could sell for between 10 and 20,000 bucks if it does obviously a big Home-run.

My brother had a 4ws prelude about 15 years ago. Cool *** little car. Had no idea they were that valuable now.

Flip #4 1997 Prelude All of the Prelude's are 4 speed (5 speeds-sorry LOL) Sunroof cars. 18K miles documented. Sat outside we have moisture issues to deal with. These sat outside in a gated Community. I was an easy person to get them out of there.
$333 invested. I’m going to help my son flip this car. He really was just looking for an extra vehicle to drive to the railroad and keep the miles off his truck.
Not this may have the high value for resale if we can get it to clean up.

Now the ones that got away. Picture number one. 1973 Lincoln mercury Pantera I believe 7200 original miles and paint orange an absolutely unbelievable car that looks like a hoarder owned it with all the crap on top of it.
Number two red Prelude It was gone before I could give them an offer. No idea what he sold it for.
Picture number three obviously a DeLorean with I believe 1400 miles on it. I was not really interested in it, but another friend of his is.

In total, there were about 16 cars that were finally discovered. I picked the cars that nobody really had a lot of interest in or even understood what they were. When he first told me about the cars, he was more worried about just calling a scrap guy to come pick them up.

Cars have not run for a long time. You can imagine some of the issues we might find. That’s why I sold the first car without putting any effort into it. I did research it and the 85 Honda CR X – HF
Only weighs 1700#. Has composite front fenders and hood so it’s a great candidate for anybody build a hot rod. The guy that bought it actually gonna keep it stock. When I delivered the car to him, he showed me other stuff that he had which was pretty interesting young single kid with lots of money. I told him the wheels are 14 inch not standard 13 inch wheels. He told me that that’s the first time he’s ever seen those wheels. They did not have one blemish on the rims. He led me to believe that they were probably worth 1500 bucks at a minimum. You can’t want them all.

Rust repair, powder coating, fabrication.
I have gotten fairly good at serious rust repair. I have had guys bring me tailgates, doors, fenders, and other assorted parts that were not available in good condition anywhere. I cut out the rust and weld in patches. I have been powder coating for about 20 years. I have gotten pretty good at it. I can do it for less than the folks who do it for a living. I sometimes fabricate things too. I haven't used family money for years. That being said, I am now 74, so I have backed off on these activities somewhat.
