picked up an 8.25 today from a bud of mine he wants me to bring it to mmw to try to sell it cheap,it came out of a jeep cherokee.how do i measure it to see what it will fit its 53 from backing plate to backing plate

The most useful measurements for me are c-c on the spring perches, and from wheel mount surface on both sides

Dang I love it when the door gets left open lol. But true to the question im not sure what your asking. The title says how long is it. Then you say how do I measure it then you say its 53" Sounds as if you have measured it already!

What I was trying to ask is the proper way to measure it ,to make sure what it will fit ,I've seen some recent post about guys using these rears in abodies
