How Many Do You Remember?

-
My uncle worked at Montgomery Wards, when they closed he went to Sears.

when you got a “boo boo”, it got sprayed with Bactine, if it was a gash or worse, it got the Methiolate.

Playing baseball all day on the fields at school, within walking distance of course, and playing Hide and Seek after the streetlights came on.

Singing your friends name out in front of their house, at the top of your lungs, to see if they could come out and play.

Cinder block and plywood bike jumps, and broken glass between the ramps, and the whole neighborhood of kids there to watch you crash and burn.

And my favorite memory from when I was a kid….the smell of a candle burning inside of a pumpkin at Halloween.

When movies were a story, not mindless quips.
Had really leading actors, and actresses, who could actually act.
I sure have turned into Good Old Mr. Wilson:(

Previous posts reminded me of one. When the K-mart store, that was within walking distance of where we lived, a lot of my fellow trailer tramps would try to be present when the "blue light special" on ham sandwiches would happen at closing time. Sometimes 4 for a dollar, sometimes 5. Yes those sandwiches could bring 50 cents each outside the door. Some wanted a sandwich and a pack of cigs. I've been on both sides of that deal. Gone are the good ol' days.

Remember when you could look at a pretty woman and not be called a pervert, look at one now with her triple plastic D's hanging out and see what happens.
