After reading the thread about the D.O.J. and Gibson I was wondering how many musicians this forum really has. I myself am a bass player as well as six string picker. However I've only played bass professionally in clubs, bars and fairs and things. Drums a couple of times!

I play the radio. LOL...

I wish I could play the drums, but I think I'm too old to learn now.

I have played the bass in my band for the last 23 years. I also play the guitar, mandolin, banjo and yes...the accordian. I was involved in zydeco music for a number of years, but being from Michigan there was not much interest. I have played rock, country, irish and now bluegrass also, and love every style of music, except maybe rap. Our band has played innumerable festivals, casino's, bars, clubs,...everywhere live music is played we try to be there!!! Company of Strangers...check us out on facebook and the web!!! Geof

I've been a Bass player since I was 10. Payed the bills for about 5 years as a Bass Player in the Poconos in bands such as Knucklehead and The S.C. Project. I'm stuck driving Truck over the road right now so I can't Commit to a band full time but I will be back to Playin Bass full time in another year or 2.

Love my Gibson Nighthawk almost as much as my mopars. Play guitar and dabble with harmonica. Played in a church band for awhile and miss that, but like cosgig, like all types of music except rap. Does that date me? Really like Rock and Blues the most I guess.

I play guitar and bass, I would like to learn how to play the piano. I have been playing since 2004, I have an Epi Les Paul and a Marshall hdfx half stack. Would like a Mesa Boogie and a new guitar soon!

Guitar player here. I play a Gibson Melody Maker reissue and a fender Classic Series 60's Strat. I'm still in high school and currently play in our school's music club, but I'm trying to put together a little band outside of school.

I pick on this thing now and again.

Your modesty reminds me of a lady I met once whom I asked if she played, said humbly "Well, I own a violin..." She played second violin in the Atlanta Symphony.

I have a feeling you're pretty good when you pick on that banjo, Tony.

Me, I play the piano, but I'm rusty. Went through a Scott Joplin phase several years ago. I can still pull off Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." It's slow lol.

Thanks fish

Kinda rusty....you gotta practice, practice, practice or you lose the "touch"

I need to get it out of the case every now and then.

With the press of business and life in general, I don't get to play as much as I used to but the 6 piece with the double bass pedal is mine ...

... and this is The MOB Fiat's side of the music room (note his grandma's antique Victorian box piano in the background on the left)

UMMMM, do I gotta bring the Martin with me to MMW now??? I'd love to pick a little with you on that Deering and me on the Martin!!! I currently play the upright bass, which I have been for the last 10 years or so, but every wednesday I go to rehearsal a little early and stop by the senior center and play a couple songs for the folks outside enjoying the evening. I like it, they like it, and it gets me on the guitar for an hour!! Geof

Man Doc, this sounds like a post I could've entered. I play the Martin every day and I also have an old Les Paul in the closet from my rock days. There are also about a dozen other insturments in there which haven't seen the light of day in years. I did get the LP out a couple month's ago to play for my son while we were watching "Back to the Future". He loves the scene where Marty plays Johnny B. Goode on the 335 and I thought he'd like to play an electric. His eyes were wide open when he saw the LP, knowing that it's also going to be his someday!! Thats the first time in 10 years it's been out of the closet!!! Enjoy that Martin you have, they're the best guitars money can buy!!! Geof

I've been playing bass since January of 2009...Not very long. Put a band together September of last year...Played our first gig February of this year and had our tenth show last night (20110827). We play covers, and I describe it as "mostly rock, and mostly '90s rock at that." We play a bit of everything, including a few country songs (in particular, 'Amie' by Pure Prairie League). I like picking songs that people don't remember they know until they hear it, then they go, "holy cow, I loved this song!"

Since that pic was taken I've obtained an absolutely amazing MusicMan Stingray 5...The nicest bass I've ever played. Took a while to get exactly what I wanted, but I'm very, very pleased with it.

I don't have any pics of me using the Stingray cause I started recording our shows and posting the videos to YouTube...if anyone's brave enough to listen, I can provide a link to my channel. I need to pack along my DSLR again and get someone to take pics for us at our next show...

Wow, beautiful axes guys!

Geof, if you're bringing the Martin maybe Tony should drive the Cuda down to fetch Mike and me instead ... doubt if ZWR and my kit are gonna fit in the Daytona's trunk. lol

Great thread ......... :-D Time to fire up the 1st Annual FABO Jamfest.
