How much to install ladder bars???

-
Problem solved.....If your running sliders with nothing more then a snubber that's it. There's no control of the housing at all. Remove the sliding perches and get a reasonable cost pair of adjustable shocks.

Sliding perches isolate the housing from the support, in this case the leaf springs. Ladders and 4-links let the springs work, along with the sliders, without changing the pinion angle drastically by controling housing movement. At this point i think you have to decide one way or the other. Leafs and no sliders or sliders and housing control. I agree that the times you are running by no means restrict you from going back to a regulation mopar set up.

I believe he has the rear spring eye sliders.

I think you are thinking of the old perch sliders when trying to use ladders with a leaf spring.

You are correct cracked, that's what i was thinking. If that's the case then i'm way off and you are correct about the shock tuning....former F body Chebbie tuning coming back to haunt me.....:D.

P.S. Reread and picked up the "rear" sliders.......sorry guys.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still going to go talk to the guys at the shop Friday, they are Mopar guys, so they may be able to help me maximize what I've got.

No harm in asking the chassis shop.

If you were closer I'd give you a set of Rancho 9 ways to try out.

Well, I know this isn't going to be popular, but after having a long talk with the chassis shop yesterday, I have decided to go ahead and do the ladder bar setup on the car. I feel that he quoted me a more than fair price, that was a little less than what I was thinking so I decided there was no time like the present to do it. I know the SS springs will work, but I want something that when I want to throw some more power at the car and go faster I can do it without making another big suspension change. No offense to you super stock spring guys though, OK. ;)

Ladder bars will likely work better. Another plus, you can lower the rear of the car.

Shocking! The chassis shop recommends the option that they make money on. LOL

Can't go wrong with that, but tell them you want a firm idea of when your car gets out of chassis shop jail...

Juat picked the car up yesterday, the install looks great, and the price was exactly what I was quoted, not a penny more. Looking forward to seeing how it runs once the local tracks reopen from the summer break.

BTW, the install was done at Bill Lee Racecars in Bradenton, if anyone in Central Florida needs any work done, I would highly recommend giving them a call.

Good deal for you... I for one only run cal Tracs and mono leafs because I like to run stock suspension class racing...It would have been nice to see what was causing your issue...

So how much was your ladder bar install?

dont have to be sorry,**** if i had the funds mine would be ladders too

This is the only photo that i've got right now, I've only had it out of the trailer once since I got her home. Besides installing the ladder bars, he also lowered the front of the car about 1 1/2", so it sits nice and level now. It was $2300.00 out the door, that was parts, labor, lowering the car in the front, scaling the car, and making sure that the setup had a good baseline tune in it. He also checked the whole car over top and bottom, since I had already had problems the shop I dealt with prior, and found a few small additional things that needed to be done, nothing major, just things I can do myself. And although he spent an hour explaining everything to me so that I know how to make tuning adjustments, He'll also come to the track if I ever need help getting it going, no charge, so I thought it was well worth it. I planned on going to this setup anyway, and I figured that I might as well just go ahead and do it. I will post more pics in a few days, and make sure to let everyone know how it goes when I do get to the track.

I agree that looks real good.. It is nice to find a shop that does quality work at a very fare price. I would go ahead and get him to go to the track with you the very first day.. You can spend hours tuning it and running the crap out of your car and he can spend 15 minutes and be done... Nothing like getting to enjoy the car at the track instead of working on it..

For the price he gave you and all that he did If I were you I would pay his way in the track and get him something to eat there.. Knowledge is priceless to me...

Oha nd change your signature.. You do not have 4wd springs anymore...lol

Thanks for the compliments. The work is outstanding, hard to believe he got it done in just over a week, its so much nicer than dealing with the shop that I dealt with prior! He actually races at the same track that I do, so whenever im there chances are he will be there too, but for the first time, I def. want him to be there to give me some guidance. I will may sure to pay his way though.
