Did some work on mine today and was shocked to see 2005 tags on the plate, wow, its been a while! I did drive it a few times with a temp reg though. Its been non-op'd since 05, sheesh!

I still have both the 2011 and 2012 tags sitting on my desk.

The last time I drove it was to my new house in May 2010.

Well, after frying the engine in my 73 Cuda, I laid it up to work on the then new house in 2003. Engine got done summer past. Getting into it a little this upcoming summer, no rush or push.

The Magnum has been off the road for 2 summer's since I got a decent D/D truck, '03 quad cab Dakota. It's the focus now.

The Duster gets tid bit every now and again. No rush.

Lol

I got it running again in 2007 for my wedding. (The 360 with two flat cam lobes lasted longer and was more fun).

Prior to that...1997

My Valiant's been parked since '99, but it wouldn't take much to make run, I don't think.

My gawd, you guys don't wanna know. I just checked out my paint shop receipt from 5 years ago. Here's my '69 Western Sport Special before it got painted all black (with all the vinyl top removed and trim holes welded up) I have the newly reupholstered seats sitting inside the interior, new door panels in the plastic, new carpet in the box, new headliner material ready to be installed (going to all red interior) NOS 440 shortblock with TRW forged pistons, freshly done 906 heads with hardened exh seats, Marko Radielovic's freshly rebuilt A-833 4-speed trans (from his infamous '67 black convertible cuda W-2 headed tunnelrammed 340) with Hurst Competition Plus shifter........ahhhhhhh...I really could go on and on. I just can't spare the money to finish it up right now. Hopefully, I'm going to get a 8 3/4" rear end built up for after the new year.....

Here's a "before" picture.....

ummm I bought mine probably 15 years ago, swapped engine and started painting it... someone backed into the front end, I had the bumper and headlight surround re-chromed, and pit it back on. I then started building my house and the bodywork went on hold... I still drive it with hopes that someday, I'll get it painted... I keep saying that I'm doing the mechanical first... LOL. I have been doing that for 15 years.

This one [cuda] has been on the back burner since 2006,our other one has been a project for 14 years [13 with previous owner] 73 charger.

8... going on 9 years now.. The buggy has been on the road most of those years, and laid up winters for various projects.. however shes been totally laid up over a year now..

I bought a Moped back in 92 that had 76 tags on it.....And my 2nd (current) '65 I bought in 1994 had 1972 tags on it, no joke, warehoused for 22 years.....

My 62 valiant had 89 plates on it when I bought it Easter of 2011. Been left outside behind a farmhouse the whole time!

2.5 yrs on the 65 Dart. Never drove it, but did start the engine once before I changed the cam & intake.

And I bought a '64 Valiant convertible today. My wife actually agreed to that! It will be finished ~2015 by my schedule, though it is a driver now.

I learned long ago not to rush a job. When you take a part off, do it once. Change all wearable items, repaint, etc. Don't ever back-track.

Some pics.

My 69 Charger 2002 to 2011, really didn't get real serious working on it until 2008, but over the years when I had extra money, I would buy up parts and stock them. I did everything myself on this car.

Heres the car around 2005 (right before I bought my house with a 40 x 32 shop).....

Current project is 6 years. 1.5 years of that was spent over in Turkey with the car in SC. Then 2 years in NE where I was deployed at least half the year, both years so not much got done there either.

Last project took 10 years.
71 Duster w/440, 4-speed, and B-body Dana 60 w/4.10 posi.
