How to access this section?

How to get to the back of this area. I attached a photo to show the general area. I noticed a little rust hole here last night but not sure how to get to it? Do I cut a hole in the bottom of the rocker Id like to get in there and clean it up and find out how bad it is.

Also is there a good way to clean the rockers out?

not really, mine was shot so I just cut out the bad and fabbed up some 16 ga. sheet steel for the repair. Theres some heavy steel inside the sheet metal to help support the cowl/door hinge as well, so be careful to only cut out what you need to replace. If the beam inside there is still ok, leave it.

Sorry, i now see that its the strike side. I should have looked closer, my bad!!

Use a stepped bit, until you hit good metal. Then put the round end of a ball peen on the hole, smack that with a bigger ball peen. Then weld in a round piece of 16/18 gauge, grind, bondo, and done. Oh, ospho inside, then wait a day.
