This might be a dumb question, but here it goes...

How can I confirm if an installed motor is a 340? I think it is on the pass. side of the block under the head? Can it be seen easily from above? Any pics to guide me along?

I have never actually cared to look at any motors I have had in the past, so I really have no clue... I am looking at a car this weekend, so I just want to be sure I know what I am looking for...

Thanks in advance!
Robb

Yes, it will be on the side of the block in big number's 340.
I believe the driver's side, not real sure witch side. But yes easy to see

On the side of the block you will see the following: 2780930-340 (unless it is a TA block, then you will see: 3577130TA-340).

It will have raised letters on the block above the core plugs. This is the one for the 360 that I'm making my 408 out of.
