how to install a sun visor question....

is there some trick to installing the sun visor on my 71 dart? I see there's a notch on the car body and a stub on the visor that need to line up but then what? I can't seem to get the screw holes in the correct position.

The mount probably got turned, just rotate the mount on the shaft until the screw holes line up. Then once mounted check the function.

It's possible when they were removed they were along the side of the car not across the top of the windshield.

Hope this makes sense.

use an awl to alighn them once you get it turned the right direction

I just put mine back in after a headliner install in my 70. I couldn't get mine to line up either until I saw a L and R on the underside of each mount. I had the wrong one on the wrong side which had the holes misaligned. The three screw holes are not spaced symmetrically. The mounts may have to be rotated to get all three holes to line up correctly but first check the bottom of each mount to get it on the right side.
