Hey everyone, I've owned my '72 Scamp for about 5 years now, courtesy of my Dad. It's come a long way from how I received it, but I'm still battling simple issues like wind noise. I've replaced the vent window seals, door seals, roof rail seals, and felts. The wind noise has gone down quite a bit compared to beforehand...sounded like I was driving a house with a door open in a wind storm before...but, I'm still at a loss on what else to change. Would the windshield gasket cause this issue too, or is it expected with these cars to have a measureable amount of wind noise?

I'm kinda at a loss here where to go with it...any suggestions are certainly welcome and appreciated. Thanks FABO

I'd diagnose where its coming from and deal with it on a case by case basis. Home Depot sells that 3/4" sticky back screen door weather stripping its inexpensive, works wonders on auto weather stripping.

Add some sound-deadening material to the floor pan and doors (Hushmat, Dynamat, etc)... Aside from that there's not much else you can do, these are 40-year-old cars we're talking about after all.

lay off the Texas chili! :tongue8:

This is what I used for sound deadening. It took 3 rolls to do a 68
Dart. Was about $17 per roll.

Kinda what I figured...I just wasn't sure if there was something I was missing apart from the obvious.
