How to repair valve guide boss

Hi, I just came across this thread and I have a similar issue (as per photos).

So as plainly as you can explain it, what's the best way to repair these?

The guy rebuilding my engine was going to scrap my heads and use replacements, but I think my existing heads are a higher spec.

Those may be press in's already
..in which you can hammer them out with a guide driver... and pop another in... the touch the valve job or the 45 at least.

If you’re trying to get rid of the crack....... I would spotface the guide boss down flush with the spring locator step.
Then drill and ream for a .502” flanged guide(like what most aftermarket aluminum heads have).
Then, after installation....... only the new flanged guide would be sticking out above the spring locator step.

So if you used these, would you also completely remove the guide boss in the port?
 
I don’t when I install them.

The port side wouldn’t be any different than if you installed a straight .502 replacement guide.
