How to restore Sport Mirrors?

I picked up a pair of sport mirrors for $10.00 which I thought was a steal, however they are the wrong color and pretty scrapped up.
Can I take out the mirrors and have them sand blasted? It seems like pretty thin metal.

Also I am missing the nut that holds down the cable on the drivers side door. Any idea where to find one?
