I would be shooting for 17x9 rims with 275/40/17 tires on all four corners.
To keep the costs down look for mustang bullit type rims and kumho tires. There are some aftermarket bullit rims with the larger center register for mopars.
You will need some spacers for the rear tires to give you an overall including spacer 4.5" backspace. For instance, if you have a 5.7" backspace Mustang rim you would need a billet aluminum 1.2" spacer.
By using that spacer you'll have the same rims in the back as the front. That will allow you to rotate the tires. That is big when you autocross, track day or drive aggressive. Because you will be wearing out the front outer edge of your front tires first.
To fit those late model Mustang rims up front you'll probably need to roll or cut back the very front lower fender wheel lip. Like 5/8" by 2" up triangle. And adjust the fender support bolt to the most outward position.
