How would you build this 440?

Honestly, any Mopar engine in these very stout trucks with the correct gearing and tires is most fun!

I run a Eddy LA Performer cam and intake with 600 CFM Holley vacuum secondary on my 318. My 74 PW is happy as such with 3:91 gearing and 36" tires!

With the 440, I would do much the same and keep the Torque in the low end!
That’s the plan so far. I’m thinking about going with this cam DODGE Summit Racing SUM-6400 Summit Racing™ Classic Camshafts | Summit Racing or something similar, some 30 over speed pro pistons, and if the budget allows I’ll probably get some stealth aluminum heads and an eddy intake manifold. No idea what carb I’ll run yet.

Yes sir. Right quick like.

My favorite from recently!

I can't remember why they were " Purple Shaft", other than the Purple. They were born around the same time as me.... I'd like to know too,, unless it's cause yer shaft is Purple, from dogging em out

Yep, there's a bunch of Purple Cams, is the Purp a Specialty Coating? Or is it you gave the bowties the shaft?

Mopar engineers put much forward to distinguish the Lame from the Best. For some reason they liked Purple/Plum Crazy/INviolet! Never mind the rest the crazy colors!
