Hughes Iron Ram Heads

-
Those are remans probably. The EQs are new castings.

I just received this reply from them.

"The cylinder heads listed are NEW cylinder heads. These are brand new castings with all new parts. The have a 2 year warranty. I have rebuilt heads also but they are only about $20 cheaper than the new heads.

Thanks
Mike

Note: I guess $357.99 per head (w/valves & springs) is not bad for brand new components if you want to go with a stock setup.

Those are stock castings right down to the casting number.. The EQ heads are an improved design I believe.

Here is a link for LA/EQ heads from Clearwater Cylinder heads on Ebay. They want $315 + $25 shipping. $680 for a set of heads with hardened seats that will out flow an old set of J or X heads is not bad. The only problems are the valve springs (beehive style) and possibly the valves and the retainers and locks. I have considered buying some for use on my 340 with a Comp Cam, and cutting them for
1.5" valve springs and use the 2.2 retainers as talked about in other threads. Cost comparison to up grade the valve springs is the big question I have, and just have not had the time to look into yet.

You might want to check out his negative feedback on e-bay..

99% positive. 16 negatives out of over 2700. Cant please everyone can you.

Check out J&C Enterprises on e-bay. They have the new casting magnum heads for $479.00 a pair plus shipping. I bought a bare set off of them for a litte over $420.00. I had the valves and springs already. Had them machined for the 1.5" springs, milled to a 57cc, chamber and cut the guide down for a .558 lift cam. I used all the Hughes studs, guideplates, keepers and retainers. I have about $920.00 total in the heads complete. Not cheap but not bad for a brand new complete set of heads.
