Hunting season 2020

-
I compete with a rifle and do all kind of reloading but hands down the rifle that has fed my family for years and years is a beater Remington 06. Might bring fifty bucks at a pawn shop! I love my custom rifles but that old 06 just melts into my hands. I bought it when I was young and just starting a family.

Nothing wrong with old guns man! Like you, my go to deer guns are big time beaters. The old Bubba'd No4Mk1 303 Brit and Remington7400 30-06 will not win any beauty contests. But they are like an extension on my arms when hunting. Just two old friends

I picked up a Savage 30-30 bolt gun at a gun show a couple year ago. It shoot real good with pointy bullets .
I experimented with some 110gr spire points in my Marlin lever gun many year ago which worked really well also, 1 in the chamber 1 in the mag type thing. The Savage doesn't have that pointy bullet to primer in the tube issue.

Funny you guys mention old British MK 4s our barn gun is an old British 303 rechambered into a 308. Butt ugly, full stock end to end but still shoots a nice group, and is heck on coyotes! Figured if someone breaks in barn I am out the 35 bucks I paid for it years ago.

I had one of those 308 Enfield conversions that thing was a tack driver!

I need to shoot in my Howa 7mm08 but never can get together with my brother with time to do it.

I won this one on $20.00 in raffle tickets for the vfd. Howa ranchland in yote camo.

That looks awesome I love the blind! I would love to try my hand at moose it's on my bucket list for sure! How do the tags work for non residents? I want to someday go to Maine on a moose hunt.

Our Non-resident draw is quite straight forward. You get drawn and when you purchase your license you have to say what zone you want to hunt in. The hard part is getting drawn, although non residents have a better chance than residents. It is to late for this year but here is the link for all the information you would need. Moose Hunting Licence If you get drawn, my buddy and I can take you and we don't charge the big fees the outfitters do. Our fee is a share of the meat each. When you consider the size of a moose that is a small price to pay seeing as you have to transport it all the way home.

To late for this year anyway. Maybe the border will be open again before next year. The time for non residents to apply is February.

I'm worried (hopeful) about next year too!
Jack, Are you guys licensed guides? Have you ever hunted Newfoundland's woodland caribou?

My hunting buddy has his guide license and I can get my license pretty quick if needed. I have never been to Newfoundland I am sorry to say. Newfoundland is the only province I have never been to.
