Hurricane season is always a bust compared to what the media tries to scare everybody with. There've been some monster storms for sure, but never as many as the media predicts.
I HOPE that's what we have this year. We don't need anymore bad stuff to happen to people or for politicians to grab hold of the latest crisis over.Yea in my experience it's an inconvenience more than anything and yea the media whips it up.
I just got rid of the blue FEMA tarp 3 weeks ago and have a real roof again.Hurricane season is always a bust compared to what the media tries to scare everybody with. There've been some monster storms for sure, but never as many as the media predicts.
Yup. Never fails, as soon as a dust storm blows off of Africa the media draws a line right at Florida. And people grab their cans and head down to the gas station. Well maybe not this year. We waited till I could do a class 4 roof.
We have had Dade County classed shutters since 2008 or so. Spent 140k on mitigation and was worth it. Still have more work inside to finish.
Machinest dropped off the 422 to me. It was done and $8500 to build and was messed up. So had to be gone through after not even being run ever.
Had no power for 14 days. Heavy Wind for us was over 12 hours long.
Rode out Katrina and Ida both wild rides. IDA was very high wind for an extended time.
So true. And if there are more hurricanes than predicted, they will blame it on global warming.Hurricane season is always a bust compared to what the media tries to scare everybody with. There've been some monster storms for sure, but never as many as the media predicts.
The one next to us and one down the street and few more in my sub division. I guess I should post a thread one day as I have tons of pics.Kevin....did anybody else in your neighborhood raise their house like you did? I remember lookin at the pictures on Moparts, of how they raised your house up and just sitting there with my mouth hung open seeing how something like that could be done! I hope it will always be high enough to keep you dry.
Correct! So true. And if there are more hurricanes than predicted, they will blame it on global warming.
