I hurt my Dart yesterday morning. I had loaded the truck with stuff for a flea market and moved the Dart out of the garage to park the truck overnight. The Dart was parked off to the side by the other door. The rear view mirror was blocked and the side mirrors were tucked in for door clearance. I had pulled straight in ok but it was close. When I was backing out, I heard a 'crunch" and wife frantically waving to stop. (too late). The backkup sensor didn't work right because the tailgate was down. Hurt the left rear quarter panel below the gas cap.
Guess I'll find out Monday who I file a claim with....Haggerty or Allstate. Can I file a claim against myself? Is it hit and run because I left with the truck and didn't call the cops? Guys, I looked at the crunch and almost threw up. Dumb sh#t!!

Ouch, sorry to hear this. We've all done dumb things. Coulda been worse is what I always say. But still makes you mad.

Sorry to hear that.....takes me back though.....

When I was in Orlando a while back, before I started the restoration on my Demon, I was staying in my Fifth Wheel at a park there......The fridge went bad and spit ammonia all over creation......had to remove it......put it outdoors on it's side waiting for the junk man......Had to back up the Demon, and turned the wheel to back out at an arc, and rammed the fridge up under the front fender lip.....

It's a real pain man..... But don't worry, you'll find a way to get her fixed up right. :-D

Haggerty is good to deal with, I had to file a claim for something very STUPID that I did to my car. I had no hassles they paid me in time, make sure the Adjuster they send out know's what he is doing, I had to file for a little more cause the Adjuster missed some stuff. They took care of it no problem.. Insurance stayed the same ... no problem..... except me being stupid. :angry7:

Well, I called Allstate (who insures the truck) and they will pay for the damage to the Dart. Lady told me their data base does not go back to 1968 and since the car was insured as an antique with Haggerty, just take it to some antique restoration specialists and fax them the estimates....and since I've been with them for 45 years my rates don't go up and I had no deductible to pay since I had a good driver discount. The car was a variation of sublime, so I (assume) the whole car will need repaint. Guess I'll go get estimates tomorrow. I feel a lot better now.

So glad everything will be worked out, That had to be a bad day, and night and still is.

Well, at 5:00pm an Allstate supervisor called and said they would not pay. I was told to go thru Hagerty. Here we go again!!

Allstates supposed to be the good hands people sound more like they're giving you the finger.
Hope it all works out for you.

I suspect you could have issues since you are claiming against yourself.

Get an estimate, and offer for them to split it. In theory, you hit the Dart with the Truck, so Allstate should be paying?
