Anyone on the forum regularly racing on retro-fit Hydraulic Roller lifters?

I've heard a couple of horror stories about their life span in applications that regularly see 6000+ RPM use.

Any stories to tell about the actual survival of the lifters themselves?

I've heard nothing of the sort. All I ever hear is how durable they are.

Ah the glass half full or half empty thing. Now I took Moper's comment as you cannot reach their limit! Something else would break first. I have never heard any negative.

Lol!

That should tell me enough to avoid 'em!

The issue from what I understand is this...

Generally they're rated to around 6500 peak rpm.?..maybe a little less.

I've heard of at least one case where they've collapsed at under 6000 after engine Dyno tuning time.

Basically the lifter can,t cope with the recommended spring pressures at the higher end of the cams recommended rpm range.

I've been told of two instances - 1 BB and 1 SB - but the US is a bigger market and wondered if there'd been similar stories?
