I call B/S. NHRA handicaps the Hemi

yep total BS. as we know money makes the rules and "unpopular folks" arent allowed to win. At least more than once heh heh

Brilliant! A tractor pull sled should do the trick. That way the Mopars couldn't get to the finish line.
 
It's a Badge of Honor!!!! If your drag car is so good (fast) that they have to dock you some weight then yours must be the fasted car. They may as well force the faster cars to detune their engines. What's the point in drag racing anymore if the regulators can effectively slow your car down to give everyone else a better chance of beating you, what happened to "run what you brung"???????????/

Now we can try this method in the streets, if someone beats you in a street race throw a few hundred pounds in the guys trunk and ask for a rematch!!!!!:rofl:
 
That's plain wrong. if the other brands can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen...will a smart car fit in the trunk of a challenger, i guess that would make it fair to the slower brands...:soapbox::bs_flag:
 
A friend wanted me to go to Zmax Dragway last year... my first time to NHRA event in 20 years. It may as well have been WWE. It isn't drag racing like I grew up with. At least on Sunday.
My friend only got interested in drag racing in the past ten years. And he doesn't really care who wins. It's all about the noise and excitement to him.
Walking through the pits, I noticed some of the Hemi based fuel engines didn't look like a Hemi. He told me they put valve covers over them to make them look like other manufacturer's brand of engines.

So, they banned our hemis from NASCAR, they banned our imperials from demolition derbies, NHRA won't let the stock demons run without a cage and now THIS?

I'm starting to think I'm paranoid
 
Hey they will come back and still beat them with the extra pounds, look at NASCAR when they restricted the hemi s then, they returned and still beat them other guys. Yeah it sucks nhra is cuddling the Chevy and Ford people but that what you also do to crying babies, like when they lowered the rev limit to the other motors where the hemi s needed the higher rpm. Well if thats the only way those other people can win, sucks that nuts feeds into it.

So basically, Dodge made a car that complies with the rules but is just too fast?
I was thinking "boycott" and I got to this.

The BOP is also a tool that keeps one manufacturer happy while, hopefully, not alienating another to the point of packing up his toys and leave. Rossey has been involved in professional racing for close to 20 years and was not shocked to get “the call” from the head of the NHRA Technical Department.

“Was I surprised? No. I’m not happy about the decision, we have worked really hard to achieve the success we have. It doesn’t seem that when the Drag Paks were struggling a year and a half ago, NHRA did not try to slow down the COPOs or Cobra Jets. This class has grown from then. While I’m not happy about the decision after achieving the success we have, our Dodge//SRT team has a history of rising to the occasion, and we will do everything we can to help our Dodge and Mopar teams continue to outperform the competition,” said Rosse



I don't know that a protest strike would do any good or be desirable.
But it's the best I got and that's just me.
 
Leah is 5 mph higher at the 1/8 than Kohn, but then less at the 1/4. I’d say they are pulling timing or something out up high to hide the hp advantage.
