I couldn’t even start to imagine

I like the races I don't like 1/8 mile so that may kill it for me. It isn't fun to watch a big tire car floor it for 1 to 3 seconds than done...
I like pure stock drag racing. I think that there should be more like it, make power with what's available from the factory. I think that the only aftermarket parts allowed are the pistons.

I'd guess that engine is north of 900hp and is built to turn around 9000 rpms. It's not your typical bracket engine. I'd guess he asking about half of what it cost to build it.

For the racer who thinks. "Power adders are for Wussies!"

What starter is needed to crank that killer over? I would think anything 12 volt has long waved "Bye Bye." "Not a chance." Or at least not for very long.
Roll it over with ignition off once it’s spinning hit the ignition.

What the heck is a “power adder”. Kinda sounds like “panty liners” only different.

Save your crap for NP. Has no business here.

I've seen plenty posts from builders condemning power adder builds. They make incredible power, but unless you really know your stuff. They don't hold up well. And/or much less consistent. They're for Pro and semi pro teams for all out race classes.

You want a genuine Pro Street build? Build engine right. And the engine depicted in this thread. Is a badass small block.

Watch your mouth and who you try to boss around me buddy. You might get a visit to give you some manners.

If that's a threat? You have to bring more than that.

This thread is about engine build.

That ain’t nowhere near cheap.
I looked into it and it's not very expensive. From the research that I've done the main expense is the pistons and if you want a blue printed carburetor for pure stock drag racing. Some guys dyno tune, some don't. Otherwise it's not much different than a stock rebuild. There was certain machine procedure's that you can't do but I don't remember what they were. I forgot what it cost to have a engine blueprinted, most of that you can do yourself. Crankshaft has to be factory stock so it can't have the crank throws index and equalized, no aftermarket rods or cylinder heads.

It don't take long it ads up quick over time. Spending that much all at once would be a stretch for me. But I would love to own it
If you had to build your old Duster engine "today" from scratch I bet it would not be far behind.

LOL, when you start playing with Hemi's, those sort of engine costs are just a walk in the park..
