Well I finally have the car. It is a 71 Duster with a 318 that was originally bought by my father's great aunt. She left it to my dad when she passed away about 20 years ago. My dad was going to sell it, so my girlfriend bought it for me on my birthday. My plans are to build a 408 for it and put it on coilovers. I will post more pictures of it later.

Welcome -- Good that You were able to keep it in the family.

Welcome! Also, be careful with wooden car supports. They are strong in the vertical direction, but absolutely need diagonal braces to prevent diagonal failure. I'd hate to learn than you got hurt if it allowed the car to fall on you!

Congrats on the Duster and welcome to our knowledgeable little corner of the internet! I think it's awesome that the car has family history and I look forward to seeing what all you do to it.

I gotta second this -- neat looking system you've built there but YIKES - get 'er on some regular jack stands!! You'll have more room once you do too.

Looks like my old duster! I love it. I hate to join in on this but once those stands go sideways just a little it will come down. I have a sad story along those lines and cringe when I see it....sorry but I want to see you driving that car.

I've got a 70 I'm slowly working on. They are neat cars. I have throw my caution to the wood braces as well. Build some dollies or buy some jack stands. That wooden structure isn't worth the risk. Nice car! Id drive it as is and save my money up for upgrades

I'm going to listen to you guys and pick up a set of jack stands. My dad built the wooden stands and it seems very sturdy but isn't worth the risk.. I'm going to be on here a lot researching old build threads and trying to figure out what exactly I want for it. I'm sure a lot of you have probably seen this before, but it is my inspiration..
