ok, so i just got done installing my new diaprham clutch, fineshed hooking up electronic ignition, and putting carb back on after a rebuild. so i fire this thing up, and man!, it is a pure BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BY THE WAY, IT IS A 340.LOL

SO, I HAVE A NEIBOR DOWN THE STREET, AND HE IS A CHEVY BY HEART MAN. I DO NOT KNOCK HIM, I JUST PREFER THE MOPARS. THAT IS WHAT I TELL HIM.
SO MY ENGINE HAS THE DOUGS ON IT, AND WITHIN 3 MINUTES, HE SENT HIS SON DOWN TO CHECK IT OUT.

SO I FIRED BACK UP, AND THE KID WAS IN HEAVEN, with drool comming out of his mouth.

so 15 minutes goes by, and the son calls me, to tell me something funny!.
he begins to tell me how when he got back home, his dad was dogging mopar, and he said "dad, that thing is a beast though",. and then his dad replied " well, then why don't you just move in with that mopar dude!"
lmao

HA!!!!! Looks like you just made a new friend.
Haters gonna hate!

Now go take him for a ride in a "real" car:thumleft::thumleft:

lol, i can't yet. i need to get a correct length driveshaft.

i am sure that his son will convert to moparism.

hey bro if you cant argue it would all be the same congrats on the fireup post vid with sound please and one more thing his pop is just jealous cause aint nothing sounds like a mopar thump

Now that real cool. Take him under your wing. Always good to here that a kid is thinking for himself and not just doing what every one else is doing just to fit in.

i have no clue how to put on here a vid link. i am just learning with pics, but a vid, forget it.lol maybe i will email to a another member, and them post it for me

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ no clue how to even put the vid clip from my camera to the computer.lol

too bad we have to suffer for this, go get that little kid to help you :) :tongue10:

I remember a guy down the street from me when I was growing up had a race car. He would fire it up in the driveway every once in a while. When he did, it was like the Siren's song. Kids came running for blocks to stand around and watch!! I agree, take him under your wing and teach him the way of Mopar!!

Yes take him under your wing and show him the old school method, lead him not into temptation as to learn newer techniques yet keep him into the 8 to 10 mpg bracket., that should be great for his pockets as well.

Is the old school method to get the car running before a driveshaft gets built or is it to have one built after the engine, trans and rear is in it. As an old man that I am and its been so long since I've thought of using low technology that I've simply forgot the practices of car building. As least I still have 2 - 340 short blocks I'm considering making into cocktail tables for my museum

well, yes for me, it is. i am doing a backwards build. ding ding. you win a doughnut!

to get a driveshaft, i must have a length to know right? so to do that, i would need to get the engine/trans in the car, then put the rear in, and then and only then can i get that magical number, right? right
