I am looking for a good high quality torque converter that stalls around 4500
to 5200 in an 8 or 9 inch size, stall may vary alittle from what i said. My converter now starts to push my car at 2200 rpm and it leaves very sorry, my old one i broke worked great but it is trashed
thanks Kyle

What are you looking to spend? I am not trying to pull the salesman thing on you, I am just trying to figure out if you are willing to spend what a new one would cost (or somewhere close to it).

ya i know it will be from 1000 to 1500 or so and then it will be for my car and engien i have a good idea of what i need i am just shopping around becouse i have all winter to change it. the one i got now was a good deal at the time and it got my car moving but it is just way to tight for my big cam small block

Not looking to hijack....

But why is it that a higher rpm stall is so much more $$$ than a lower one?

I am looking at a TCI Breakaway for my 318....it stalls 2400-2600......they want like $300....

Why does the price go more than triple when your go to the high rpms?

I am a newbie at all of this....
