1966 Dodge Dart (California Car) - cars & trucks - by owner -...
$7000
Not sure what makes it so rare?

The ad is wrong. This IS NOT a factory air car. Has the non-air heater panel and firewall, an aftermarket compressor without the drive belts, no condenser coil in front of the (incorrect replacement) radiator and radiator cap, a single pulley alternator, and an aftermarket evaporator unit under the dash. The refrigerant hoses are routed through two large and poorly sealed holes drilled through the firewall. This looks like a Sears bolt-on a/c system which was never completed and made to be operational. The EGR system has been removed, as well as the evaporative emissions system, the distributor vacuum advance delay, and the heated air bypass door. The heater hose valve cover bracket is missing, and the heater hoses are misrouted through the evaporative emissions hose loop on the right inner fender. The ECU, voltage regulator and PCV valve are all incorrect aftermarket replacements, as are the ignition cables which lack the rubber grommets that seal up the spark plug tubes. The ad says that everything works, but the a/c will not operate without drive belts or a conderser coil. The body looks pretty nice, though. Brand new trunk mat with the folds from the shipping bag still there. The rear window defogger is factory - a fairly rare option.

Don't know anything about the car, but a local tow truck operator has a, I think, 64 Barracuda sitting outside his fence. Car showed up there about 3 weeks ago. Don't know if he has the title or not, or how much he would ask for it. It obviously needs some work, but from what I can see, it appears to be a car that could be restored. It has a V8, so assuming it's a 273, automatic transmission. The back glass is there, I understand this is a hard item to find. If anyone is interested, send me a message and I'll try to get more info and post some pictures.
