Some of you might remember a while ago I mentioned my mother in law
She has lived with us for the last 5 years and has been suffering from dementia

When the dementia wasn't too bad she would pick up my coffee and think it was hers

For the last two weeks she's been pretty bedridden and right around noon today she passed away, quite comfortably

I know some of you guys have been praying for her, and I appreciate that, but her struggle is now over

Rest in Peace Dear Lady
My sincere condolences to family and friends.

Sorry for your loss. Take care of your wife, she needs your comfort.

Such a terrible disease, had to watch my grandmother suffer for 8 years before she finally had peace

I am awful sorry......and glad at the same time, because I just "bet" she had "all that" taken care of!

Always sad, but sometimes it's better. I wish you all well

I second "Dementia is a horrible disease", sorry for your loss & as mentioned give the wife all the support you can.

Sorry to hear that, my friend. But, if she had faith like I know you do, how awesome for her to wake up in the presence of Almighty God!!!! I pray that God will shower you all with the peace and comfort that can only come from Heaven above.

Sorry for your loss. Feel comfort knowing that you stood beside her through the difficult times.

Thanks guys

Yes, she was a Christian, and no doubt is in Glory now

It is crazy to think that 12 days ago, we went out to dinner after church and she was better then she had been in months

The Saturday after that she contracted a UTI and was pretty much bedridden after that

My wife was able to care for her and hold her hand as she passed...something she wouldn't give up for the world

I am very sorry for your loss. Dementia/Alzheimer's are cruel diseases, on both the person with it and their caregivers. She is at peace now, and whole again....waiting for y'all to get to her side once again. Your kindness in caring for her in her time of need will be returned one day.

Sorry for your loss. She is at peace and in a better place.

It is nice to know that she passed peacefully and is no longer suffering. My condolences. Enjoy your coffee.

I remember your posts about her moving in with you. Prayers for you and your family. She will now be in Glory for eternity.

thanks for all the replies guys

it was a hard road but one worth taking

what was crazy is last wednesday, 11 days before she passed, she came out to dinner with us, and she seemed better then she had been in months

speaking of months, did i mention she had a brain infection last december?

she spend almost 2 weeks in the ICU then with a disease that has a 75% mortality rate
she was intubated for 4 days straight, without sedation because they needed to watch her brain activity for seizures

my wife was there for that too, and she said the doctor who extubated her had never before had a patient smile at him before doing that

Oh crap, I'm very sorry to hear that....
I give up prayers for her, you & your family.
So sorry for your loss
