Hi all
I have no idea on these as they weren't an option here in Oz.
I would like to fit this to an A Body, what is it & will it fit?
Thanks

c-99539 is b and e body tail shaft from 70 up. I am assuming it is an 84 and likely an overdrive. Is there a part number on the front bearing retainer or can you measure the diameter of it?

Fast fact: If it has two shifter pads, it's not an a-body drop-in trans.

As these were not an option here in OZ & I know nothing about them, what is an over drive is that 5 speed or 4 speed with a different ratio?

What will I need to fit it to an A body besides peddles, shifter, flywheel, shifter, trans, mount, trans cross memeber & clutch?

Thanks

it is a 4-speed - 3 speed with an overdrive. it is the same basic box as a 4 speed the 3-4 lever is flipped up so that it actually shifts into 4th before going into 3rd which is geared for OD. The trans pictured is a duel-pattern tail housing shifter. It is not designed for an A-body, but for a B/E-body. output shaft and Tail housing length and shifter mount location are different. if you want to go that route it will require some fabrication.
I have not used a B/E-body in an a-conversion before, but will say that an a-body OD trans is not uncommon and are affordable in comparison to a non-od 4-speed.
Someone will chime in here... To give you the low down. bump for you.
