I have a 74 Dart Sport 360 and have been doing a lot of work, planning on rebuilding the clutch pedal linkage it's a bit screwed up. The plate I have attached to my bellhousing is the same as this picture, is this correct for an a body? I can't find anything online except for this one photo, non of the repo stuff has the extra flange on the side.

Yes, it is correct.
You can see a picture on illustration page 6-2. in the 1974 parts catalog in Group 6 clutch.

Took a look at that and looked up the part number the two bolt hoes and the ball locations are the same, though I haven't seen any with the extra part to the right. Is it for the return spring?

Going from memory, the part on the bracket with the plastic bushing does not serve any purpose on the 74 model.
That style bracket was used from 71 or 72 thru 75 with 8 cylinder engines.
Maybe some members can examine their linkage for a different answer.
There is a better picture of the bracket in the 1973 Dodge chassis service manual in chapter 6 - page 4

Another photo of that bracket from a 1974 Duster.

Interesting side note.
The bracket that was put on at the factory came with plastic bushing installed.
If you purchased the bracket from a Chrysler parts department, it looked identical but without the plastic bushing.
My car is a v8 car originally a 3spd swapped for a 71 4spd. The ball is kinda worn. So I want to get a replacement part just want to make sure that the extra part of the bracket doesn't have an important use.

Should be able to use the bracket from Brewers that fits 72 and later years.
Brewers part number BSB734.

Your from Wisconsin, get it from Jamie at Mega Parts. '72 up. Save yourself some money.

Doesn’t the extra part with bushing go to the reverse lockout mechanism.
It wasn’t needed in later models .
