Hey FABO,

1965 Barracuda 273/904 auto

I’m not sure what to call these or what’s left of them… these two rubber-ish pieces were on the idler arm when I removed it, they’re in pretty rough shape and look like remains of something else that was once there… and I’m wondering what the correct or complete setup might have been? Are these super critical to the center link and idler arm or can they be secured without these two “bushings”???

If not and they are absolutely critical where might a guy find something like these to replace them?

Thanks!

I think they are pretty close to what they look like when new & I also think they are just seals/dust boots to keep road debris & stuff from getting into the joints. DMT may have them.
If no one has them, you may have to buy a new idler arm assembly.

If there isn’t any slop in them, you might get away with cutting them out of a medium density foam? Not an expert on foams but something like a wet suit material.

Very much appreciated for the feedback, thank you! I’ll see what I can come up with, no slop in the idler to center link whatsoever so far

Some of them come with a thick foam washer. But If it were me I would find someone to sell you the piece off of a 68 to 76 K-member and upgrade that idler arm to the much safer style with a through bolt.
