If you ever need a windshield, try these guys

Thanks but no thanks
I just tried an online quote for them for my kid's car (a c body land yacht) and they came back with $721 and some change. That's about double my worst fear

Shopping for windshield glass for my 69 dart, and saw this older post. Does anyone know how this glass thickness compares to OEM glass ? Price looks about $100 than AMD

AutoGlass.net - Auto Glass from $99.00
In many instances these guys use OEM suppliers. The windshield I just got and installed in my '66 is full thickness, made (and delivered through) Pilkington (PPG). One of the nicest quality windshields I've seen in a long time. About $175 out the door (no shipping charge, but there was a $25 "transfer fee" from their Ohio warehouse to Wisconsin).

Thanks. The Autoglass website comes up as the same one mentioned earlier in the thread. $200 for my Dart and an hour drive to pickup. Only thing is it doesn't mention if it's tinted glass or not...maybe I'll look for a phone #

They show a windshield available for my Imperial. I find this highly suspect since nobody else seems able to get one, including vintage glass places. I've got better places to put $630 right now.

The thick/thin glass thing is a real issue, although not all current glass is thin. The replacement glass I bought for my Challenger is thinner than the original, but using a 3/8" v. 5/16" butyl rope puts the glass in the right place in relation to the mouldings. For the little I paid, I'll make it work. I bought front and rear glass for that car, and a windshield for my Valiant three or four years ago. It was under $450 for all three.
