I would like to remove the dash mounted ignition switch from a 1967 Barracuda, does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

I was told to remove the chrome trim ring, but am unsure of how to do that.

Is there a clip in the back of the dash that has to come off in order to remove the switch.

Thanks.

Try using the tips of needle nose pliers to engage the bezel and unscrew it - works for remote mirror bezels anyway.

If you look at the switch where the key goes in you will see a ring around it with little square notches all around. Use those notches to turn the ring counter clock wise to remove it. Once the ring is off the switch just slides out the back of the dash.
I have found a snap ring pliers works well at grapping the notches to spin it off.
Good luck

That worked! There are four little indentations on the ring, I almost didn't notice them.

Thanks.
