I have a ?. I am replacing my column on a floor shift car. Going from manual to power steering. I want to keep the ignition switch as the keys match the doors. Is there an easy way to get these out? The one I am installing has no key for the ignition switch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hum.
Seems like on my 73 auto column car, I had to make a puller up to get the steering wheel off to get to the lock set.
I welded a nut and big flat washer on a short piece of pipe and used a bolt to back it off.
Had to drill holes in the washer and put screws to grab something.
A power steering car has a shorter shaft right?
I know when I have converted cars to manual steering I used the longer manual shaft that goes up in side the collapsable part.

Oh, I remember a retaining ring in there somwhere.
Takes lock ring pliers.

iirc, the key can be turned to accessory and there is a little brass pin that you push and the switch will pull out. if you dont have the key you can drill it out maybe
