Ignition switch???

I have a 70 duster 318 car. It will fire right up and run as long as you hold the ignition switch in the start position. As soon as you let go it dies. I was hoping the starter relay (easy to get to), but that didn't work. I am thinking I need to change the switch in the colum. Any suggestions?

Check the ballast resistor prob went out.

Agree with above. Usually the first lesson a Mopar guy learns ! Next comes learning how to replace ball joints..........
