Installing stock Steering wheel and spline counts...

Hi everyone,
I just pulled a stock steering wheel out of a 1972 dodge dart. I tried to install it on my 1971 dodge dart, but the splines on the drive shaft were different from the steering wheel. Any recommendations on how to put it on? Never done this before and I don't know if there's any easy fix....? Thanks.

I've never seen a different one except for 4 X 4 trucks. Post some closeup photos of each. Maybe we can see something. Will the '71 wheel fit on the '72?
