Intake hole please help

-
Took intake into another engineering shop. They are going to bolt it to a head and put a patch over the hole and weld it. Then plastic bead blast to try and get a uniform colour from it. Hope it works. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

I was going to say tig welding a cast part isnt as bad as the thin sheeting. It should be able to be done without warping it.

He calls himself a machinist?? Where are you located, as I've been an un-employed machinist for 15 months now?? I have over 25 years as a machinist and would have never done something like that!! Most machinists will ask thorough questions, so as to NOT make that kind of mistake!! How the hell this guy still has a job is beyond my comprehension. I thought after all of the economic problems we've had, that these "so called machinists" were all weeded out. Damn it all to hell, now I'm pissed:(

That machinist must have smoked him a big fat bowl of mary jane out of his water bong just moments before he started on your intake!

lol pretty much ...I mean gezz wouldn't the guy of though..'what the hell could he use this for anymore if I mill the side of the plenum wall off' LOL

Maybe next time just run a big thin cutting wheel across it with a steady hand, you'll be in better shape.

but mygweneveer has it right, tig and some plates.
