Imo, the best use for ANY streetmaster, is lining a trash can to keep it from blowing away in the wind.
FWIW, the SP2P 318 was designed for mileage during the gas crunch era. They came in a 2 & 4bbl configuration.Which is better down low, the Streetmaster or the SP2P318?
huh TIL. i didn't know that they came in a 2bbl version.FWIW, the SP2P 318 was designed for mileage during the gas crunch era. They came in a 2 & 4bbl configuration.
SP2P - Most people don’t believe it came in a 4bbl version.huh TIL. i didn't know that they came in a 2bbl version.
yeah, i'm aware of the street master only being 4bbl.
the SP2P as a 2bbl doesn't shock me, but in all these years i've never seen one in the flesh.
FACT^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^I would not use that.

I've seen ONE in person for a Chevy small block.
is it the angle or the position of the shot or does the carb mount angle forward kinda like on a marine motor? that's wild. man... i'd forgotten how tiny those ports are!
I thought that was a feature on just about all intake manifolds to make up for the backwards tilt of the engine and transmission to achieve proper drive line angles.is it the angle or the position of the shot or does the carb mount angle forward kinda like on a marine motor? that's wild. man... i'd forgotten how tiny those ports are!
I really don’t know, you got me there.is it the angle or the position of the shot or does the carb mount angle forward kinda like on a marine motor? that's wild. man... i'd forgotten how tiny those ports are!
are they and i just never paid attention? or maybe it's something in my lizard brain that just ticks the box and stamps "QC OK" because it's logically supposed to be that way...I thought that was a feature on just about all intake manifolds to make up for the backwards tilt of the engine and transmission to achieve proper drive line angles.
A good price on that LD4B intake. The ad says the manifold bolt holes were elongated for an earlier 273
If it was all I had to choose from is it or a Chinese made manifold, I would take this one in a heartbeat.
There were 4 of them at Indy. I should have bought them all and passed them along. I thought about it. I saw one auction on ebay for around 500.oo. One at Indy just needed a little refurb for $150.00.LD4B if you can find one. 1500-5000+ rpm range
There is no EGR valve on it, not California smog.I was able to find out more info on this manifold. Was basically a small carb manifold designed for mpg gains on stock smog engines of the 70's it seems. Not the bargain I had hoped it was. I did not buy it once I found out what it actually was. Thanks guys.
If you want a really good old school intake, find a Street Dominator. Also a single plane, but they lose nothing on the bottom end. They have a full, open plenum and not the funnel crap of the Streetmaster. Still available reasonably.
