Intellitronix A-body Dash Install Thread

Probably not too many, as it is almost impossible to get a camera back there with the gauge cluster attached

The wiper motor I didn't need an additional ground on the switch I did have a problem at assessory pin column and the pigtail off the red to black and meter wire. If it comes back I will toss the factory harnesses as it's old and I really don't need it. As my car is a non AC cat not a lot of wiring. Hot rod harness from parts flow is looking inviting as the old harness I keep running into hassles. Engine harness is brand new so maybe get a new factory but a lot more cash. Do not use the blue yellow inst power wire or orange light power. You only use the wires for sensors or indicator. The red double wire is the brights INDICATOR. That's not the parking light. Parking you gotta tie into a wire that turns the parking light bulb on rear is super easy the harness is right they there below fuse box. Run a yellow black ground to the tank all the way back use your taillight harness route. Run your wires to fire wall via the grommet for speedometer as you won't need cable and uses a sensor on transmission red/black/white. I ran my power direct to battery and didn't use the positive inside the dash you can but directions for Power say battery. The assessory you run off column or fuse box side when it's switched on. You want both key positions so you can program and adjust it. Hope that helps shed some light it's not to terrible but plan it out get yourself a big 11x17 laminated wire diagram.

But it's only about $380 shipped from Intellitronix.

They must be running a special because I looked before posting and the price was 448.99 but checking the box I think I might have actually paid 380 - 400 for it. I was just going by what is shown on there site for it I haven't been able to find my invoice for it

Progress has been made. I finished the install of the dash. It looks great in there. IMHO. I also added a Retrosound stereo and replaced the black painted dash with a woodgrain one I got from a member here. I am not sure where I will mount the handheld for the Super Sniper EFI just yet. The empty EGR warning light is replaced with a Linelock/Roll Control Light mounted into the same socket.

Overall, I like the system but the instructions are weak. It talks about 2 gray wires connecting to a button. I have none but I have a button that is on the dash face itself. I think this is new but I cannot test them yet. Why, because I had an oops. I used the 12v switched wire from the dash wiring harness. It is not on in the accessory mode. My mistake as the instructions do say that it must be on during "on" and "accessory". You have to be in accessory mode to program things.

There is no diagram for what button is which. Sure the far right 2 buttons are hours and minutes. Then there are 2 other ones for Trip/cal and Tach that you use for calibration and setting things. I hope it makes better sense when I get the accessory mode functional.

I will take it all apart soon and make the change to the wiring.
I'm installing one of these. Did you have to do any modifications to the Intellitronix board to make it fit between the headlight switch and the wiper switch? Did you mount the two switches using the OE stamped sheet metal?

I did not use the sheet metal. I needed to add a ground wire. I don’t remember any mods to the intelletronix board
