Which 5.7? The 09 and later have a number of changes.

But here is a list of generally interchangeable parts.

Crank, 6.1 hemi is Forged 5.7 is Cast both has the same stroke
Rods, Both 6.1 and 5.7 are powdered metal but the 6.1 are beefier. Used 6.1 Cranks are generally available for $250.00.

Pistons NO, you cannot bore the 5.7 to the 6.1 4.050" size.

Heads. You can bolt a set of 6.1 Heads on a 5.7 but it will raise the compression ratio to between 10.8:1 and 11.25:1. So adjustments need to be made. Also the 6.1 Heads flow over 300 CFM out of the box, which is probably more flow than needed. The pre 09 5.7 Heads can be ported to over 325 CFM.

Intake: You can bolt a 6.1 Manifold onto a 5.7 Head, but port matching needs to take place, as there is a pretty good mismatch.

Cams: you can put a 6.1 cam into a 5.7 though you would loose cylinder deactivation.

About the pistons you can bore the block out enough. IF and that's a big IF the cyl wall is thick enough and on some blocks (very few like one out of 1000) are able to handle it. Personally I don't see any advantage you could raise the compression up a little and accomplish the same thing. and have a much stronger block. Reall all the 6.1 and 5.7 parts will bolt together. Without Amy modification with the exception on the pistons.

About the cam installing a 6.1 cam in a 5.7 will not remove or disable MDS. It won't even effect it at all it would still function. The only thin it will dk is net you a little more power on the top end of the rpm range and you will loose a little tq on the low end.
