So, I had a problem a few weeks back, when my '71 Valiant wouldn't turn over, as in the starter wasn't getting any power to it. I let it sit a few days, and tried it again, and it started fine, and has kept on starting, until today. So this morning, it did it again to me, I put the key in, and nothing. It has a brand new battery, the lights, and the radio work fine. I also tried shifting the trans into neutral, and still no juice to the starter.

What could it be?

Find the starter relay on the left inner fender. The yellow wire is start signal from the keyed switch. Test light should show it gets power on every attempt. If it doesn't the keyed switch is bad. The brown wire is a ground for the relay and completes the ground through the neutral safety switch. You can check it with a test light also by placing the clip end on the positive battery post and light its tip to brown wire contact. If both those relay signal connections are good and the rlay doesn't work the relay is bad. Hope this helps.
