Hello All
on the lower balljoint it slips through the control arm there is a nut and cotter pin, no washer
Is there supposed to be a washer between the spindle and the upper balljoint nut? Before I took the front end apart there were washers under the nuts of the upper balljoints
thank you
George

I installed a set of Moog upper ball joints this AM. There were washers in the box. Instructions that came with them gave an illustration of when you would use the washer, and it is to correctly position the castellated (?) nut for the cotter pin.

that seems to make sense as I tightened the nut the cstle nut seemed to be far from the cotter pin
thank you
George

You never back the nut off to get a good cotter pin hole. Let us refer to the washers as nut shims. Splains it ? :)
