A friend wants to clear out his yard. Has a 65 barracuda which looks like a 4 speed. From the pictures it looks pretty straight. He has a 340 or 360 for it. He does not know which one. I can’t tell from the pictures. He wants to sell it to my son. His dad owned it for 32 years. By the looks of it it has sat for 31 of those years. Tell me what y’all think. It may be a 66. I’ll let the pros chime in.

Texas is Chevy country! Charge him $300 to haul it all away!!!!!

Gonna part out a car? Buy it for 30 cents on the dollar/value of parts ?

Gonna buy a project car roller that needs everything, buy it 50 % of what it is worth as a parts car!

Buy it (offer less than $500), take it home and spend some QUALITY time evaluating what you have. Best case scenario: It will clean up to be better than I looks in the pictures a and be a good restoration candidate. Worst case scenario: You decide it is too far gone to easily restore, so you part it out and pocket at least (I would guess) $1500. Either way, BUY IT!!!

Can see the 2 into 1 exhaust in the engine bay, did you happen to notice if it had the dual valance cutout?

I'm in the process of parting a 65 out right now.
Will a 65 have dual valance cutouts? I have never seen that.

Hell the plastic trim corners under the rear glass are easily 250 if not broken.

Buy it.

Worst case spend 150.00 to frame connect it and drive it for a year as a trash around town car, if you decide it's too much.
Could be a great practice car for patching lessons. As long as the frame isnt swiss cheese...its way worth it and will be fun.

If you cant double your money with all work involved.
Forget it.
I made that mistake a few times....
And at my age I regret every minute.

Unless your retired....

LOL still have my stripper in my avatar! wont get rid of it until the 64 is done.

This car reminds me of going out with a girl that looks great but is totally irritating... I want the good parts but the whole thing isn’t worth the aggravation.

AND this car looks like there’s lots of good parts on it but this is not a good car for someone starting out.

As a parts car or a long term project it looks great.

Ouch, been looking for those for years.......Never seen them for $250! F it, I can live with a few holes showing or make them with some plastic sheet and a heat gun.

What a strange way to park your car.

We did this to get the 3.23 Sure Grip 8-3/4 out of the car. There was wood piled up on the right side and at the rear. I took this pic about 7 years after we left it like this...

Oh, and this was a RARE 1967 Dart GT with the Rallye Package (discs, handling package). It also had the 273 four barrel and console tach along with the above mentioned 8-3/4, and the rare '67 sport wheel covers...

...and perfect quarters?

If !!!! I lived in a highly populated MOPAR part of the world, parting cars could be fun ( at times). Customers that actually pick up big parts, all Mopar shows/swaps right lose, lots of buyers fairly close by. But the parts deal is something a person needs to enjoy or other wise it is a lot of work and aggrevation. Boxing and shipping, dealing with tire kickers, whiners, returns, lots of work for the reward. You need to love the whole process.

The center grill section is worth at least $300. If the '65 grill is in good condition, its worth probablly $600. You could really make some money on this car just by selling parts
