I'd like to really clean my cuda's cooling system. Is this tool any good? Anything better out there?

This is what I've done in the past:
1. I add a bottle of Prestone radiator flush
2. I run the engine for an hour then I turn off the engine
3. And finally, I open the petcock that's on the bottom of the radiator to drain out the coolant.

What do you all think...would this tool yield better results?

you could make something that will do the same thing for about $3.OO. That is just allowing you to attach a water hose to one of your heater hoses.

I think it also says it has a place where it can connect to an air compressor.

Prestone sells a backflush kit for a hell of a lot less. It's been years since I bought one, but I know it was definatley less than $10 and you can get it from any of your local car part stores.

I've had good results with the Prestone kit. Not real sure I'd be eager to hook up a 90 PSI air hose to a system that is designed to handle 20 PSI. I have visions of radiators and heater cores swelling up and going BOOM.

Prestone sells a kit but their kit requires that the heater hose be spliced into. I reckon, somewhere down the road, splicing the heater hose may increase the likelihood of a possible leak.

the coolant now adays is so good...I wouldn't worry about it...maybe pull the heater lines off at the engine...NOT THE CORE...and back flush back and forth there...so it flushes out the heater core....do it Gently like grump said kaboom

It may increase the opportunity for a leak, but driving my car increases the opportunity for an accident. I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, I'm just saying that it's nothing I would worry over. I ran one for a long time on my /6 Barracuda decades ago and for a while on my big block Duster and never had a problem with either.

I'll go ahead and try the Prestone kit. Off to wallyworld I go!

Aw c'mon it ain't that hard! Attach 1 foot of hose to Prestone fitting, disconnect one end of heater hose without cutting, insert fitting w/hose, connect garden hose and pollute storm drains til your hearts content. Remove and refill with coolant.

The Prestone kits went away a few years ago, about the same time we started caring about the crap we were dumping intoo our river via the storm drains. I still use one, but caprure my runoff and route to sanitary sewer.
