quickquestion to verify. my uncle has an all orignal 73 charger w/ a 400 4 barrel w/ an automatic. hes the 2nd owner, but has had it since 73. anyway, with the 400 BB, he must have a 727 not a 904, correct? just double checking. and he would have an 8 3/4 rear as well? what kinda of gear ratio would he expect to have?

Yes on the tranny, Iffy on the rear but with Mopar never say never. Tell him to look under it, if it has a bolt on rear cover, 99% sure it's a 8 1/4.
 
no 904 were ever made to fit BB,,,so all BB will have 727.
 
904/ 727 is easy to ID. Look under the car on the passenger side at the pan. If it's straight sided, it's a 904. If it's got a bulge in the pan, it's a 727

if hes got 3.23 gears in that thing id b tempted to steal it from hiom. im not sure if hes got SG diff tho, never had a chance to do a burnout personally but im sure he knows. i really oughta post some pics of his car, its amazing haha
