Welp, Test drove the 833-od tonight!. Started on Friday of last week.
Hydraulic clutch and the whole thing. talk about a live feeling, the manual seems to be a lot less "soft", course I still have a big hole in the floor..and no carpet.

The whole thing went pretty well but there are a couple of unforeseen issues.
1. My speedo now reads 35mph in 4th at 2k...hmmm how do I calculate what gear I need to fix that? It was fine with the old 904

2. Downshifting is almost impossible, I have to wait till I'm dang near stopped to get it into 2nd, is that normal (i'm using 75w-90 in the trans)? a friends 68 3-speed mustang behaves similarly.

The 3 - 2 downshift problem is not normal. Recheck it all for something out of the norm and make it dead in spec.
Thats the oil I have used in the past. I now use the Mobil Sythn. oil, similar/same weight.

Theres a formula around here somewhere that can tell you what gear you need.
Tell me what size tires you have now and what gear ratio you have.

Thanks guys, I'll have to figure out the rear gear (stock 7 1/4), but I'm running 205/60/15 on all 4's

Haven't had too much fun yet...still trying to work out the bugs..funny noises/vibrations..

Glad to hear about the progress! CB is right, these cars are a blast with a manual!!! I have to ask my buddy to drive his every once in a while....

I did get the 2-3 shift thing fixed.. 1-2 lever was a little too far forward. I swear it was lined up when I put the rods on but after shifting through the gears then back to N it was off.
Ok well I had it out for an extended drive today and the only thing I can really complain about is the loud gear sound... my long tail shifter adapter is touching the floor and transferring all of the sound right into the car but holy crap what fun even the slant is with some gear slangin behind it

yep I have divin a few slants with 904s and I swore I would never build a stock slant car. I put a stock slant with an a833 od in Emily's scamp and wow what a difference! I know what you mean when you say it is a lot more fun!

Damn it, I want a 4-speed soooo badly!!! That would be bad *** to drive around with those whiny gears and open exhaust. Is it really that big of a swap? Of course then I'd have to get rid of my 7-1/4.

Jon, I used the 200 SX slave cyl from this post:
http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=33640&page=2
and a master cyl from a neon or ....can't remember, but it looks almost like the one in the post above with the line on the opposite side
oddly enough I pulled the setup from 2 different cars and ended up with almost the exact same setup. The biggest problem with the hydraulic setup is the master cyl alignment/mounting. (my bastardized spacer plate at the firewall looks like hell ). oh yeah and the bleeder is on the bottom but I bled it unmounted

Kid, I still have the 7 1/4 behind it all.....for how long is the question... but since they are a dime a dozen I plan on getting a couple for spares  The gears are a little whiny in 1st and 2nd but after I put the rubber boot and the console on it's tolerable.

I will say that after a week of tweaking and hunting down the noises it is a total BLAST to drive
