In these two pictures you can see the newer 94 up 8 lug wheels. Which by the way I needed to use 94 Dakota lug nuts to make those work.

Thanks. It's pretty cool that we can use two gm switches and be able to use a computer controlled trans.

Nice work Lee, Ram Charger with a Big Block is definitely “better transportation”.

Thanks Paul. I was needing something to pull the 64 Valiant and haul my three girls plus my wife. I think it will do it when I'm done.

Cool truck! It is looking good. My friend use to have a Ramcharger with the lift off top. That was a fun truck to drive around in.

I think you will be able to pull tree stumps with it.

What size motor is that?

I'm running 4.56 gears in my 03 Dodge RAM with OD trans... I get better MPG also running that gear!!

.040 440 446 cubes.

What tire size are you running with the 4.56's to achieve you better MPG's?

446 cubes... I hear ya! Nice motor.

I'm running 305/45/22 tires. The truck did have 3.55 gears and would lug up hills and when the cruise control was set it would kick down going up hills(sucks gas). With the 4.56 it does not kick down anymore and just over comes the hills (saves gas). I was a hardcore member of Dodgetalk.com for a while and a lot of the guys switched to 4.56 because the trucks have OD and it helped the situation a bunch. Most of them had the stock 20" wheels. It has been mentioned that Dodge should have at least installed 4.10 gears in there trucks and that would have better than the 3.55 gears. Mainly because they have OD transmissions and when you ad the .75 OD ratio it equals out to be like 3.89 gear ( or close to that with the 4.56 gears). I have not did the math in awhile but you get the idea. Tows better to. With the 15" tires and the 4.10 you have you should be close to what I'm running if you know what I mean.

Well, I'm running 16's. Close to what was factory to the 85 1 ton that the rear end came out of. The 85 originally had those 16.5's on it. So i got the newer 16's from the 94 and up trucks and got a tire that would comes close so that I could used the speed O gear from the 727 out of the 85 and put in the 92 trans. So that my speed 0 would be close.

I'm pretty sure that they are like 30 or 31 tall tire.

Thanks for the feed back on that.

Here is some math that comes in handy. OGR stands for Overall Gear Raito. If you know what the ratio the 727 is in when it's in OD then you can go from there.

EXAMPLE: 3.55 X .75 = 2.66

1) REAR GEAR x TRANS GEAR = OGR (2002 45RFE= .75 / 2003-up 545RFE= .67)

EXAMPLE: 70MPH x 2.66 x 336 / 31" = 2018RPM

2 ) SPEED x OGR x 336 / TIRE HEIGHT = RPM

I can't remember exactly but my trans I believe is .65 in OD. I have the 46RE trans.
